Her visibility has also led to criticism from some commentators who questioned how quickly she returned to public appearances after Charlie’s de:ath.
At AmericaFest in Arizona, Erika appeared onstage in front of huge crowds while promoting the organization’s future plans. Clips from the event quickly circulated online, with critics accusing her of appearing “too cheerful” considering the circumstances.
Erika later pushed back against that criticism directly.
“My husband’s dead,” she said during one interview.
“And it puts life into perspective.”
The widow has also faced rumors surrounding her relationship with Vice President JD Vance after the pair shared what some online commentators described as an “inappropriate” embrace during a public appearance.
The speculation intensified after social media users noticed Vance’s wife, Usha, appearing without her wedding ring in several photographs.
However, representatives for the family quickly dismissed the rumors.
“She’s a mother of three young children, who does a lot of dishes, gives lots of baths, and forgets her ring sometimes,” a spokesperson explained.
In the meantime, Erika has continued to focus on her role within TPUSA while also taking on additional responsibilities in conservative political circles.
Reports earlier this year revealed she had been selected for a position on a key advisory board connected to the US Air Force Academy, following an appointment linked to the Trump administration.
White House spokesperson Olivia Wales praised the appointment, calling Erika a “perfect choice” to continue Charlie’s legacy.
