What About Salicylic Acid?
Salicylic acid is a common treatment for warts and can gradually remove layers of the wart. However, it is not an instant cure and can irritate healthy surrounding skin if used incorrectly.
It may be more useful as part of a longer treatment plan after the child has been properly assessed.
Do not use wart-removal products if you are uncertain that the growth is actually a wart.
What Should You Avoid?
When a child is in pain, parents may be tempted to remove the spot quickly.
